README screenshots

The main image, grid.png, shows the bundled Clean Default rig: Noise Gate, Punch Compressor and a bypassed Tube Boost in Pre; the bundled riffsmith-clean amp-and-cab capture with bypassed Auto Tremolo and LoFi Tape Machine in lane A; and Dual Delay, Cosmic Echo and Outboard Channel in Post. A1 is selected, showing the capture's controls and measured input/output display. The gallery tool loads the rig from NeuralAmpModeler/resources/defaults, so this image is regenerated with the rest.

The remaining gallery images are captured from the native Windows editor with CaptureEditor while generated guitar-like audio plays, and converted losslessly from BMP to PNG. They show the illustrative "Ambient pedalboard" rig: Noise Gate, Tube Boost, a NAM capture and a cabinet IR in Pre; Juno Chorus, Tape Echo and Room in lane A; a second NAM capture, a cabinet IR and Cosmic Echo in lane B; Parametric EQ, Airwindows Tape and Peak Limiter in Post. This rig is not a bundled preset.

The generated gallery uses a demo library containing:

  • Example WaveNet amp.nam and Example LSTM amp.nam are NAM Core's MIT example models (example_models/wavenet.nam and lstm.nam).
  • Example 4x12 cabinet.wav is a synthetic impulse response generated by the capture tool: decaying noise shaped by a high-pass, a low resonance, a presence peak and low-pass filters.
  • Five example .ngrid presets for the preset browser.

To regenerate the gallery on Windows, build the opt-in nam-readme-gallery target and run it with the plugin, the repository root and an output folder:

sh
cmake --build build-grid --config Release --target nam-grid-clap nam-readme-gallery
build-grid/NeuralAmpModeler/nam-readme-gallery build-grid/out/nam-grid.clap . tmp/gallery

It creates the demo library and renders every view as BMP, then each built-in module in the empty A4 slot, cropped to the editor panel, as modules/<module-name>.bmp. The NAM and Cabinet IR pane images are lossless full-width, 244-pixel-high crops from the bottom of nam.png and ir.png. The tool uses a private temporary NAM_GRID_HOME for settings and demo files, so your own settings and libraries are never touched. Convert every BMP losslessly to PNG, including the newly generated main image; see ui.md for the views and build.md for the smoke-test screenshot modes.
